DIONNE QUINTUPLETS – COMPLETE SET – COMPOSITION BABIES. WITH WOODEN ANIMAL CHAIRS – – Circa: 1935 – 1945. These dolls are from a smoke free home and has no odors. Oh what fun you can have posing these very cute Dionne Quintuplets. These Quints are babies and the size is 8 inches tall. The size of the animal chairs are appox. 8 inches long by 6 inches high and 4 inches wide. For price reference see page #16 in the book,’Doll Values’ 13th Edition by Linda Edward. This is a complete set of Quints with wooden animal chairs and 5 diapers. They are all original with their original clothes, bonnets, and metal name pins. There has been no repainting as examined by a black light. There is very minor crazing. Annette has a finish/paint chip off her left leg. This is a wonderful set and displays very well – very cute. DIONNE QUINTUPLETS – VINTAGE COMPOSITION – COMPLETE SET OF FIVE. ALL ORIGINAL – CIRCA: 1935 – 1945. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. This is a complete and original set of 5 Dionne Quintuplets. They are 8 inch toddlers. For reference see page #16 in’Doll Values’ 13th Edition by Linda Edward. I do not have their boxes. They are so cute – how can you not love them? Each has her original dress; diaper; underskirt; name bib; bonnet; and knit slippers. Each has a different color in the ribbon on the bonnet and slippers and name on bib. I had questioned the originality of the slippers but on careful examination; the ribbon on the slippers is the exact ribbon (color & stitching & color fading) that is on the bonnets. The color also matches exactly the names on their bibs. They are painted eye and molded hair. And of course, those brown side glancing eye’s. There is no repainting as examined by a black light. All have all their fingers. Two of them have a very tiny nose paint chip off (must have fallen at one point) and a third has crazing down the forehead. There is no crazing on the bodies. Madame Alexander Quintuplet dolls. All dolls have their names on bibs. All are wearing a bonnet bib with name, slip, cloth diaper & dress. Yvonne is missing her slip. Some dolls have missing booties. They are wearing what I acquired them dressed in. All dolls have been cleaned, clothes cleaned, although very faded and all re-strung. For their age I would say they are in good condition-there is some wear, chips but nothing too major. Marked Alexander on backs. All the dresses have Alexander tags-two have the names on tags-Annette and Cecile the other three marked only Madame Alexander. All have bent legs. 5 vintage (1930’s) Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplets with (1984 Quints 50th Birthday) May Pole. Dressed in tagged clothes with name pins. They have straight legs some have paint loss in spots , their composition is in good condition. The May Pole is on a turntable and they have little pink stands. Made in the mid 1930s thru 1940s by Madame Alexander. The 5 little 7 1/2 composition dolls have curved legs. I bought these in the early 1980s at the Gaithersburg Doll Show from a reputable dealer. I was also told I would be the 3rd owner of this set of Dionnes. I have enjoyed these beautiful little babies for almost 40 years. My family lack interest in my doll collection, so I would like my babies to go to other doll collectors, who will know how to take care of them! This set is considered more rare because of the mohair wigs that were glued on over the molded hair. I bought them in the painted wooden bed, the 5 connected gold colored, tin oval picture frames with the little girls faces in them came with the dolls, I added the other stuff over the years! I do want to mention, that they have never been touched up or painted while they have been mine. They all have minor paint wear imperfections but no paint flaking on their eyes or lips, considering their age they are in good condition. I encourage all interested buyers to examine closely all the photos, by enlarging them. I have tried to make them as clear as possible! These are the Dionne Quintuplets by Madame Alexander, circa 1935. They are all composition and a complete set of (5). All are marked “ALEXANDER” on their backs. All are excellent and clean condition with very nice coloring. There are no cracks, breaks, crazing or distracting marks. One needs to be restrung and two are a tad loose. They all have their original clothing which consists of dress, slip, diaper, bonnet and bib. The bibs have their names embroidered on them. One is missing her bib. There are no odors. All clothing is very nice with no holes, tears, stains or problems. The group appears to have been put away when made and never played with. Really as nice as you will fine these. Wonderful set of Dionne Quintuplets dating from the 1930s when the girls were at their most famous and the whole world was fascinated. The perfect set to grace any doll collection. I have been told that the maker was Madame Alexander however I cannot see any markings to this effect. They are however very rare and precious. Condition – All of the girls have suffered from crazing to their composition which you would expect given their age. They all have little painted faces and their legs cross over like little newborns. They have all had little outfits handmade for them and have been lovingly looked after by their little owner. The babies are in a wicker basket with little cots fashioned for each of them with tiny quilts and pillows. At the bottom of their cribs there is a section for their clothes and accessories. There are various little belongs in each of these sections. At the bottom of their cribs is homemade name tags for each baby which have been pinned in place. Yvonne, Annette, Marie, Cecille and Emille. Their basket has been well preserved along with the contents but condition is consistent with the age of this rare piece. They are extra charming as you can tell that they were very much loved and their little owner must have had the most amazing fun with them. I travel all over on my quest, my trouble is I find it hard to part with most of my finds, having said that needs must and all that so keep checking in for my latest delights.
