Featured here is a vintage Madame Alexander 24 inch Binnie Winnie Walker doll; she is dressed in a lovely navy blue check cotton dress, with ruffled rick rack cotton slip, cotton panties and a white velvet lined coat with Navy grosgrain ribbon accents. She wears a wonderful vintage straw bonnet, of tightly woven molded straw, accented with a navy blue grosgrain ribbon and ties. Tiny vintage fabric flowers are on the top. This doll wears a beautiful vintage necklace of graduated pearls that closes with a very old metal clasp; it holds nicely and is the perfect size for her. She carries a miniature Williamsburg China plate ornament, with its original tag and satin ribbon hang loop; the plate is dated 2006 and is from Shields Tavern at Williamsburg and features wonderful fish, a tree and tavern on the plate. Its colors compliment her outfit beautifully. I have added replacement white patent looking ankle strap shoes with tiny bows on the toes. NOTE: In response to a question about her hair and request for photos of the back of her head under the hat, I have added a couple photos. Her wig is thick and in its original set, not messy or missing — a beautiful dark golden blonde in wonderful curls. This doll is a walker, i. When you move her legs her head turns to the side and then back to the front. Her walker mechanism works well. She has wonderful large green blue eyes, all her eyes lashes, painted brown 2-stroke brows, strawberry blonde hair, deep red rosebud painted lips and rosy cheeks. NOTE: The doll stand is not included in this listing; it is very heavy metal and only used for taking photos. These dolls can stand well leaning against a wall, couch, etc. Because they have large flat feet and can balance quite well. This doll has been part of my personal collection, kept in a darkened doll room in a SMOKE FREE and PET FREE home. She shows no sign of sun fading. She has no odor and is very clean; a flaw of note is that her one leg, the left leg, is slightly lighter in color than the right leg. Her left arm and hand are also slightly lighter in color than her right but do not show under her outfit. 21 Madame Alexander 1946 Composition Portrait Scarlett O’Hara Original MA tag. 21 Madame Alexander 1946 composition Portrait series Scarlett O’Hara in wonderful vintage condition. Her hand painted facial features show arched brows, blue sleep eyes with blue green eye lids and mohair lashes, eye shadow and three long painted lashes at the outer corner of each eye. Her closed mouth has full red lips. Face paint is all original, no touch ups. The brunette mohair wig is in original set. She is wearing her original very full gown of rust bronze rayon fabric with zipper back and padded bosom. The gown features decorative bands of ribbon and fringe, an open weave black net bodice and lower sleeves tied with black velvet ribbon. At her throat is a pearl encircled red stone “brooch”. A very full petticoat with tiered ruffles and a feather boned hoop with eyelet edge holds out the fullness of the dress skirt. The petticoat has a cloth Madame Alexander tag. This is the only identification that these dolls had. The elegant bonnet shows Madame’s quality creative styling. The bonnet base is a white braid covered by a black netting veil and embellished with rose buds and ribbons. A elegant bow with long streamers ties under the chin. The white cotton stockings, eyelet trimmed pantalettes and the shoes are replaced with copies of the originals. Condition: the face shows one small split at the corner of one eye, and faint crazing. There is crazing on the torso, arms and especially the legs. Some areas have been filled and stabilized. Luckily a lady of the 1860s is clothed from head to toe so any condition issues are covered. There is some spotting on the skirt front which disappears in the folds, and a larger area on the side back(it looks worse in the pictures than it actually is). Here is a wonderful opportunity to add one of these rarely found 1940s Madame Alexander Portrait dolls to your collection.
