Vintage 1947 18 Composition Madame Alexander A/O Alice in Wonderland Doll. This doll wears her original Alice in Wonderland costume from 1947. Although it appears that the tag has been cut off – it is an easily recognizable outfit. Alice also has her original wig and sleep eyes. Only her hair ribbon has been replaced. The doll has been cleaned and craze controlled due to light crazing. Alice has a very nice condition body and pretty face. She is all composition and is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. She has clear grey/blue sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Her face paint includes eye shadow and single stroke eyebrows, painted lower lashes, light cheek blush and painted closed mouth. She is a “Margaret face” Alexander doll with. Original blushing on her hands and knees. Her original mohair wig is styled. With short bangs, pulled back with a black ribbon in the typical Alice in Wonderland style. This doll has had a very light restoration, by me. That means that she has been cleaned, craze controlled and sealed. Her face paint has not been touched up. Her fingers and toes are perfect and have not been repaired. She has just been restrung – fairly loosely because composition dolls that are strung too tightly develop side head or torso cracks from the stress. Her costume is all original and had been recently laundered and it has been recently pressed. One snap on a shoe was repaired with tape under the strap. Her hair ribbon is a replacement. Lovely Alice is ready to join your collection! MARK: ALEXANDER on head and back. Very Good very lightly restored condition. Nicely painted facial features. Clear sleep eyes with thick lashes. Wearing her thick original, mohair wig which is thinning on the ends. She can stand and pose. Perfect fingers and toes without any repairs or rebuilds. No cracks, Light to moderate crazing, No flaking, lifting, chips or large stains. Costume is all original and in good condition. The blue dress looks faded. Dress is not tagged – but it looks like the remnant of a tag where it was cutoff the back of the dress. Costume is in good condition. Apron has one small hole in ron (pictured) Shoes have one side snap the has been repaired – and it does not open and close. (pictured) Other shoe snap works using care. Missing her original box.
